Description
Charming pair of vintage Mexican folk art dolls featuring hand-painted oilcloth-style faces and limbs, woven straw hats and sandals, handmade fabric clothing, and miniature woven animal accessories. The male figure wears a light shirt and blue pants and carries a small woven textile and miniature woven animal. The female figure has braided black hair, a colorful floral dress with lace trim, ribbon accents, and her own woven animal.
These dolls have been together for more than half a century. According to their longtime owner, she received the pair as a gift from her sister approximately 55–60 years ago, placing them in her possession by approximately the late 1960s to early 1970s.
